Good Harbor – HDR
HDR, or High Dynamic Range imaging, is a method of mixing under exposed and over exposed images together to make a composite. This composite gives you much more vivid colors and gives your outdoor photos more detail.
I’ve used the HDR Pro app for a few months now. It’s extremely easy to use. It tells you exactly what to do, and then you just wait for the 2 images to merge. On the shot above, there’s the bright light of the beach and sky, so the camera reads that light, but in the foreground is the darker green of the grass. The camera can’t read both dark and light at the same time. So it takes the two shots and averages out the light. Very cool. The app costs $1.99, but it’s worth every penny!
